Wayanad-An unforgettable journey
Hello guys, I am very excited to share my journey with you. A journey from Pollachi to Kalpetta(a place in Wayanad district) and the things I have experience. The travel occurs between 2nd and 3rd of March 2019.
JOURNEY BEGINS:
The journey started from my college gate where we are a group of 22 members from my class gathered there. After assembling all the members we pick up a local bus from college to Pollachi town hospital. Then, we started to walk from the town hospital to the railway station which was around 4 km.
It was fun walking with them because we didn’t feel any tired while walking. After reaching the station we collected connecting ticket to Kozhikode which was cost just 70 rs. The Amrita express train which we are going to travel came to the station at 7.20pm and then departed at 7.45pm.It took nearly 1 hour 30 minutes to reach Palakkad station.
MIDNIGHT ATROCITIES:
There we had our dinner and then we waited for the west coast express to go to Kozhikode. But Unfortunately, we weren’t able to pick up the train as it was so rush. so again we picked up amrita express and then landed at Shoranur junction. There We waited for almost 2 hours 30 minutes. it was fun waiting there by having some fun chats and incidents happening there. Around 2.00a.m we got a train and it was soo rush But somehow we managed to get in and we travelled around 1 and half hours by crushing inside it. After Reaching Kozhikode we started walking to the Bus stand which was around 2 km. after reaching there it was awesome to see the bus stand with beautiful architecture.
DAY 1 OF WAYANAD DIARIES:
After a long trip of around 2hours by bus, we reached Kalpetta. We Freshen up in a hotel and around 10 a.m we had our breakfast. After that, The trip organizer arranged a jeep to go to a place which was 20 km from Kalpetta to a place near Kalladi. There we had room to get relaxed. After that, we had a small walk to the places around it. It was a warm-up session for the upcoming trek. Then we had our lunch which was done by the trip organizer. Then we enroute to a waterfall which was around 4 km from there. It was so tired to reach it because of the high steep roads. But after having a bath there, all the struggles and the pains were gone. it was very fun there.
Then at night, we had fire camp which was awesome by having dance and shouting all around it. after having our dinner we then stayed in a tent which was a new experience for me.
DAY 2 OF WAYANAD DIARIES:
the day begins with beautiful scenery of mountains. then we started our trek from there to a particular viewpoint which was around 4 km from camp. It had a high steep routed with a dangerous 45 degrees climbing with no support we managed to go there and reached the destination. It was wonderful to see the spot there. After spending a quite amount of time there. We started getting down from there. this time we got a rope to get down from there. with proper safety measures, we reach down from the dangerous climbing. then we reached our rooms and started packing. They gave a beautiful send off to the members with a group photo. Then we had a 4 km walk to the bus stop. A bus arrived there and after 45 minutes of travel we reached Kalpetta, Then we started our journey to Kozhikode and then we got a train around 2.00 am and then we reached Palakkad by 4.00 am and then finally arrived at Pollachi around 6 am.
CONCLUSION:
Overall the experience was awesome and we will never forget the journey.
